From Frivolous to a Fortune
We represented a professional suing his disability insurance
company for failure to pay his claim. Just before trial, the
defendant told us it expected to recover all of its attorney
fees from our client because the lawsuit was obviously frivolous.
We were able to convince the jury that the lawsuit was valid
and that our client had been severely damaged. The jury awarded
millions of dollars and an amount more than 40 times the defendant’s
highest settlement offer before trial.
Maximizing the Claim
We represented a family whose home had been damaged by fire.
Most of the damage was caused by smoke. The insurance company
offered a paltry sum on the claim before we were hired. Through
mediation, we were able to secure a settlement for the client
16 times greater than the original offer and approximating
the total value of their home and land.
Taking Over in Mid-Stream
A client who was suing her employer for harassment and discrimination
came to us after her original attorney persuaded her to settle
the case before trial. We analyzed the case and advised the
client that the settlement amount was too low. The client
rejected that settlement and, several months later, we secured
a settlement of four times what her first attorney suggested
she accept.
